we create

A BETTER ENVIRONMENT

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an essential part of our policy and is completely incorporated into our working method. We are members of Amfori, BSCI and BEPI. We also manufacture in line with the Bangladesh Accord and the Dutch Textile Covenant. Together with our factories and yarn suppliers, we are committed to a humane, environmentally friendly and sustainable production process.

The DPDB Group has long-standing relationships with the factories where our garments are developed and produced every day. These long-term relationships and intensive cooperation are of great importance for improving the social and environmental aspects within the factories and the regions where production takes place.

Due to the knowledge we have acquired as a signatory of the The Agreement on Sustainable Garment and Textile (AGT), risks are identified through due diligence to manage potential adverse effects in our own operations and supply chains. This is an ongoing process that must be performed for every order, production location, material and process. Through this method, the DPDB Group tries to prevent, reduce and eliminate risks in the supply chain.

In addition, we set objectives every year through our CR strategy to continue to take steps on both social and environmental aspects. The entire DPDB organization is involved in this CR strategy so that purchasing practices are also adapted to the objectives. In addition, all factories have signed our code of conduct so that it is clear to everyone what we expect from each other in terms of both social and environmental aspects.

In recent years, factories in Bangladesh have improved in terms of construction and fire safety, but millions of workers in Bangladesh have also been trained in their rights to work safely. As a member of the Bangladesh Accord, we fully support the effort to continue the work and, together with other signatories, make a difference for workers in the factories.

In order to better monitor and help the factories we work with in Bangladesh with both social and environmental aspects, we have set up an office in Bangladesh since 2019 with a local CR team. The CR team monitors the factories through its own internal audit. This is done both announced and unannounced, so that we have the clearest possible picture of the current situation in the factories and that the orders are actually produced in these factories. The following aspects are checked during our internal audits:
– Full disclosure of the production location
– Full transparency regarding factory conditions
– No forced and bonded labor
– Prevention of child labor
– Fair wages and prevention of excessive working hours
– No serious health and safety risks
– Ethical business conduct

We have also taken several steps in the field of the environment and sustainable raw materials in recent years. Our Restricted Substances List (RSL) determines the use of chemicals and is signed by all our manufacturers. We monitor use by randomly testing production materials, waste water and sludge.
