DPDB has a rich history which requires further elaboration:

1986  Coen de Bruin and André duPon, colleagues at a large fashion group, took a risk and set up their own clothing production company from an attic room in Aalsmeer.  Driven, enthusiastic and with a good measure of knowledge and experience at hand duPon&deBruin was created. Their main focus was the short run production of woven clothing.  In those days, all the pattern drawings were done on paper.  (The pattern-maker of the old days is still working for us. She now works digitally!)

1987  The company moves to a new, modern building on the Hornweg in Aalsmeer.

1991  Etienne Cornelisse arrives to strengthen the ranks. He sets the base for Blouses Only and before long earns the nickname ‘the Blouse King’. Successful years follow.

2001 Co-founder, André duPon, leaves the company to devote his time to the production of sailing yachts: something completely different!  Etienne Cornelisse takes over his shares and Karin Blankespoor comes aboard.  She distinguishes the collection and sets a basis for the woven division: Collections.

2003 Logistics becomes self-managed.  DuPon&deBruin open a warehouse in Geffen. Four years later the distribution centre moves to Schaijk.  Here a team of experienced colleagues deals with all of the deliveries.

2004 It’s time for a professional circular weft division. Maroussia Meinen strengthens the company and builds up Knits Only together with her team. In the meantime the company is collectively known as: DPDB.

2008 Noorderhuys Participations buys the majority of the shares of DPDB.  Together with the management team, they become the new owners.  DPDB moves with the market and opens its own production office in Shanghai, mainly focused on long-run production.  Noorderhuys, the new investor, makes this acquisition possible.

2009 Fully Fashion, an outstanding flat weft specialist becomes part of DPDB.  Formerly established by the entrepreneurial couple Reina Ovinge and Marten Korthals.  Eva de Wit and Inge van Kempen have formed the management duo since 2010.

2011 Turkey is one of our most important production countries. This is why we have opened our own production office in Istanbul for short-run orders.  Ergün Çamak, the production expert within the company, returned to his country of birth to head the office there.  Meanwhile DPDB produces more than six million garments per year!

2012 Architect bureau Jaap Dijkman signs to undertake the designing of the new building.  The preparations for the move from Aalsmeer to Loenen are in full swing.  As far as internal communication and ICT-facilities are concerned - We have invested in new drawing programs for our styling and patterns department.  Our new software system contributes to an even better information flow within production planning, logistics and billing.  Judy Volwater, manager of Finance/HR, is in charge of this coordination.
